Everywhere you look, there is hydraulics. Hydraulics is a system of moving and lifting that uses fluid to achieve those aims. Using the power of hydraulics is not as new as you might think. The first artisan scientists, such as Galileo and Da Vinci, were some of the first to really engage with the power of Hydraulics. Mesopotamia, now Modern Iraq and Iran, plus the Ancient Egyptians, were using the power of water flow to irrigate their fields and move power mills. Then came the Greeks and Romans, who built aqueducts to collect water from rivers and bring them straight into the heart of their developing towns and cities. This allowed for the development of early urban populations. It also allowed new scientists like Ctesibius of Alexandria who would start to create water-powered clocks whose hands would move from being powered by the flow of water. They were even reasonably accurate.
