It makes a big difference to your climbing wall experience if you book at the right time. Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to climbing after a break, timing your visit is very important.
Quietest Times to Visit
We have found that the quietest times to visit are weekday mornings (especially Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) when there are fewer people around and you can expect to have your sessions to run on time. This is especially the case for morning sessions before 12pm.
How Far Ahead to Book Instructor-Led Sessions
Beginner and Taster Sessions (Instructor Led): These sessions are very popular and book up a week or two in advance, especially at the most popular Climbing Walls. So it is recommended to book 7-10 days in advance to book the best time for you.
School Holidays and Term Time
Half-term and Summer holidays are busier than term time for family sessions, especially junior sessions. Adult climbers may find climbing quieter during term time. For holiday sessions book 2-3 weeks in advance.
When Beginners Should Book Their First Session
Book a session once you have decided to give climbing a proper go, so you can get the best out of it with proper technique and safety knowledge to apply to your future climbs.
Planning a Group or Party Visit
For groups of 6 or more it’s best to book in advance and allow 3-4 weeks. Due to the increased amount of communication required with larger groups it’s best to book over the phone. As well as this, many climbing walls have minimum group numbers and time slots for group bookings. It’s best to check with the wall in advance for the best availability.
Booking at the right time can save a lot of hassle and allow you to get the most out of your climbing session.
