St Manchans Monastery – This site was originally established by St Manchan who went on to die of yellow fever. You will also find the ancient well here, that was also said to be founded at the same time, where many people come to receive healing.

Saighir – This site was said to be founded by St Ciaran, who met Saint Patrick on a trip to Italy and received a bell from him with no clapper. St Patrick told him that he would find a church where the bell would sound by a miracle, and the site at Saighir is this place. On his return to Ireland he knew that this was the place when he heard the sound of the bell.
